7 STEPS TO HEAVEN

Sha’ar HaBitachon - Episode Seventy-Seven , ~ ! We've already discovered that Bitachon applies uniquely in different dimensions of life, including our present behaviour that's influenced by our Trust and Faith in the future. Before moving forward with the detailed instructions of their application, Rabbeinu Bachaya seems to have felt compelled to formally classify all the categories, from the Ephemeral to the Eternal dimensions of life. The big question is why? To be sure, the neatly restated spectrum of reality in a systematic arrangement will form the structure for this rest of the chapter. Yet was this new list of seven specific categories necessary for Bitachon to be properly sub-divided. Why couldn't we simply be informed how and when ‘In G-d We Trust’ is a must without the fancy (and seemingly superfluous) table of contents? The supposition will be made that the organizational methodology is far more important than most might imagine. In fact, we will remonstrate that it comprises the foundational platform upon which the entire Trust thesis must rest! Rabbi Mendel Kaplan
