In the previous [inaugural] Episode of Chapter Seven, we began by highlighting the kinds of wrongheaded ideals, and spiritually deficient attitudes that necessarily impede healthy nurturing of appropriate Faith Foundations. We learnt about misconceptions that confound our understanding of Hashem's oneness, notions that disable us from seeing the Creator's kindness, and weaken our resolve in properly serving G-d. Here, Rabbeinu Bachaya emphasizes how the things that serve as obstacles in developing Faith-based Basics, will naturally obstruct our Building of Bitachon as well. After re-stating general failings that interfere with the other foundational elements of our spiritual wellbeing, and as such, certainly negatively influence our nurturing of proper Trust, he moved on to things uniquely detrimental to Bitachon. In this new Episode, TRUST ISSUE II we continue, where we left off by analyzing the unique detriment and impediments engendered by juvenile and underdeveloped comprehension of Hashem's compassion and engagement with all things created. It is this kind of boorish and ignorant perspective about G-d's ways that inhibits our ability to rely on Hashem and achieve the inner tranquility that such Trust affords. This incredibly illuminating class has been sponsored by Allan and Ira Hetz to commemorate the Yahrtzeit of Ira's late father, Pesach Tzvi Ben Yitzchak Chaim OBM. The second segment on the Seventh, and final chapter of Sha'ar HaBitachon comprises the 156th consecutive Episode of this series that can gift you the knowledge and tools to nurture Trust in G-d and conquer your anxieties. Forever!
